Join Guy Jones in lighting the flame of peace and prayer in Dayton, Ohio on June 21st, World Peace and Prayer Day, sponsored by Five Rivers Chautauqua. Partners are Sierra Club, Temple Israel, and SunWatch Indian Village.  Ash carried from the fire that burned at the Ocetin Sakowin camp will light the flame of peace and prayer, so that we the people can come to the fire in a common Bond of Humanity.


World Peace and Prayer Day 2017 — Dayton, Ohio
7:30 AM — Lighting of the fire at Temple Israel (130 Riverside Dr.)
8:30 AM — 4:30 PM (all of this occurs at Deeds Point Metropark)
8:30 — Offerings of prayers from various faiths as we stand in unity
10:30 — Storytelling/music by Alicia Pagan and Ray Wallens
11:30 — Dance performance
12:30 — Music by Michael Ullery
1:30 — Storytelling from various cultures
3:30 — Presentation from the Fire Runners from Standing Rock
4:00 — Drum circle
4:30 — Prayers and greetings from the Native Community
At 5:00 the event shifts back to Temple Israel
5:30 — All runners gather at the fire at Temple Israel
6:00 — Runners depart for SunWatch Indian Village
7:00 — Lighting of the fire at Sunwatch Indian Village

S.P.I.R.I.T., a dance concert supporting the work of Guy W. Jones

Women and Dance is excited to present SPIRIT, a modern and contemporary dance concert featuring the work of local choreographers, to raise funds in support of the work of Guy W. Jones.

The concert will take place on August 19, 2017 at 8:00pm at Center for Spiritual Living Greater Dayton, 4100 Benfield Drive, Kettering, OH 45429.

S.P.I.R.I.T. – soulful peace infinite rebirth inspiration truth

Guy W. Jones is a full-blood member of the Standing Rock Sioux Nation. He is one of the founders of the Miami Valley Council for Native Americans in Dayton, Ohio, and has served as an advisor to the Cincinnati Museum of Natural History, the Minority Arts Task Force of the Ohio Arts Council, the Greater Dayton Christian Race Relations Task Force, and the Bias Review Council of the Ohio Department of Education.
